Digital Inclusion

As being digitally connected is becoming essential to our daily lives, we are committed to enabling older people to develop their digital skills and to stay safe on-line.

We have a longstanding partnership with Northumbria University Students Union to offer an IT drop in during term time, at which older people receive advice and support from students to resolve any issues or learn something new.

In 2021 we received funding from the Postcode Community Trust to provide free tablets and wifi to people wanting to learn how to get on-line.  We are delivering our Staying Connected project in partnership with Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle and Mental Health Concern.

Increasingly, all our home appliances are digital which poses challenges to many older people.  We are working with colleagues at Newcastle City Council to support people to learn how to use their digital appliances.
