Keeping up our IT skills can be a bit of a challenge when we are no longer in the workplace where colleagues can help or family members and friends with the time to show you how to use that great app! But help is at hand from students at Northumbria University who run a regular fortnightly IT drop-in session in Room 107, Squires Building, 2 Sandyford Road, NE1 8SB.
However, big or small the problem you want to solve, call in for help. You will receive one-to-one support as well as having the opportunity for interesting conversations with students studying in Newcastle. The sessions are popular, so to book a place please call 0191 208 2701 or email [email protected]
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Vera Bolter. Vera was one of the founding members of the Elders Council. For many years she led our work on Health and Social Care, Housing and Older Person Friendly City and represented the Elders Council both locally and nationally. Vera also led the Old Spice drama group, who through their witty and challenging performances raised important issues about the quality of life of older people in the city. Tributes are pouring in from a wide range of people who feel privileged to have worked with Vera over the years.
