Did you know that our radio show, Older Voices, is now broadcasting twice a month on the first and third Friday of the month between 2.00 - 4.00 pm on Nova Radio on 102.5FM? Our programme is packed full of interesting interviews including our regular slots on gardening from Susan and green issues from Sandy, and lots, lots more. It's easy to find on-line if you use radio.garden (which enables you to access radio stations all over the world!). The Elders Council is a group of people who are interested in having a say about how to make Newcastle a great city in which to grow old. We do this in a variety of ways - peer research, arts projects, focus groups and regular meetings with service providers and policymakers.
Elders Council was delighted to be part of an artist residency organised by Newcastle City Council and involving four different organisations in Newcastle. Working with artists Natasha Haws and Elijah Young, a group of older people laughed, cried and wrote their way through lockdown. Their work is now available in an anthology and as a soundscape on https://wordsandworlds.co.uk
